The Last Song of the Last Bird

The Last Song of the Last Bird

There is something particularly disturbing about the psychology of the
civilization of homo sapiens on this earth. I say that because so many species
of animals have been driven needlessly to extinction. So much in the way of
biologically diverse sentient life forms have been lost forever, all so that
human beings can have their so-called standard of living and quality of life.
Arguably, the standard and quality of civilized living and life is not good if it
is only possible as a result of the ceaseless decimation and destruction, and
irreparable loss, of so many different kinds of animal species. All the
wondrous natural sights and sounds of the Earth, all the lessons that were
never learned because the very subjects of those lessons and all the
knowledge that they had to teach us, were literally driven to extinction, by
the rapacious and insatiable appetite of the masses of humanity.
Even a cursory look at the life of humanity and the contextual framework of
the civilization of the same, will offer the one of honest will, the
isundisputable fact and truth, that the self-centered mindset and behavioral
greediness of human beings is reflected in their indomitable insistence on
always moving forward on the wide path of destruction that they blaze, and

consider to be the inevitability of their own evolutionary progress. Humanity
and its leaders, instead of being good stewards and guardians of the Earth,
and the countless biologically diverse sentient life forms thereof, prove
always to be antithetical to nature and anathema to even desiring, let alone
trying to esrtablish, a symbiotic relationship with the natural world and the
various animal, insect, and plant kingdoms of the self same said.
The following is a duet of a species of birds that are now extinct. While the
record includes both the male and female, the tragedy of this loss of life, is
that there exists another, later, recording of a single male bird of this species,
who is literally the last of his kind. He was singing a mating song that was
meant to be a duet to a female of a species who didn’t exist anymore. He was
alone and he was the last of his own kind. And from what I understand the
recording was played back to him which threw him off. Shortly after that, he
had the distinction of being the last of his kind to face certain demise. Why?
So humanity can grow its economy and over develop, far beyond its moral
sanity and spiritual goodness.
